Will Pools open this summer?

Pool companies are an essential business and are working to help prepare your pools to open when the time comes. It is important to continue to treat your pools so they can pass health inspections and best maintenance practices. If you haven’t already, please let your communities know that the pools is NOT OPEN even though they may be seeing services and on warm days looks so inviting! It’s not a bad idea to put a chain lock on your gate if you haven’t done so already. It is a good idea to not set out pool furniture at this time to reinforce that pools are not open.

  1. Fulton and Dekalb County health departments have suspended pool opening inspections until further notice.
  2. Cobb, Douglas, Cherokee and Gwinnett Counties are conducting inspections but deferring to the Governor’s office and CDC regarding when community pools may open safely.
  3. The CDC will provide recreational water safety and guidelines for when pools are allowed to open but there is not currently a timeline for when this will be available.

According to our pool experts, there is hope that pool season could begin in May but it is so important to continue to keep your communities safe and follow all CDC guidelines! All pool companies have updated training, hiring and standard procedures and can provide all of this to you for an update!
